Hello Ponchos past, present, and future!
2023 has been a spectacular year for Poncho eLearning – between the amazing projects we’ve created, the wonderful people we’ve worked with, and being recognised at the AITD Awards among the best eLearning development services in Australia, we really couldn’t ask for more!
So we wanted to share a little about what we’ve been up to this year… and give you a sneak peek into what 2024 has in store.
Fascinating Partners in eLearning Development
We have been so privileged to work with some truly incredible businesses, supporting their eLearning development in areas where we get to help make a real difference. It was also an amazing opportunity to spread our wings creatively and create some truly cool modules.
Rail industry eLearning development
A big theme for us this year was eLearning in the rail industry. We worked on multiple large-scale, exciting projects for big players in the rail industry across the country, so your rail services can be as safe and efficient as possible.
These projects were all about interactivity and gamification. We created choose-your-own-adventure interactive learning, where learners can practice skills in real-world scenarios – and get to see the consequences of getting it wrong.
First Nations culture and public health eLearning
We were also privileged to provide eLearning development services for Australian First Nations culture and public health initiatives.
These projects involved fascinating subject matter expert interviews, and some beautiful animation work by our outstanding creative team.
Counter-terrorism eLearning
A heavy subject, but an important one. We were delighted to team up with a government organisation to help correctional staff identify extremist ideology.
We delivered essential learning and helpful case studies in graphic-novel-style animation – honouring the seriousness of the topic while also keeping learners engaged.

Awards for best eLearning development in Australia
For the second year in a row, Poncho eLearning was recognised at the Australian Institute of Training and Development.
We were nominated in three categories:
- Best Onboarding/Induction Program
- Best Diversity and Inclusion Program
- Best Capability Building Program
What an incredible way to spend an evening – talking to the most innovative minds in eLearning development.
Speaking engagements
Head Poncho, Cal Osborne, was invited to be a keynote speaker at this year’s Gamicon84b, an international conference covering all things gamification.
He also hosted hundreds of people in Poncho’s monthly webinars, where he breaks down exactly how to make engaging eLearning that actually sticks. (Spoiler: eLearning doesn’t have to be boring!)

Exciting times ahead for eLearning development services in Australia
We have some very exciting projects lined up for the coming year! We can’t share too much, but here’s a sneak peek:
- Continuing work with First Nations culture in a series on Indigenous language and education
- Public services like water, energy, and transport
- Public health initiatives
- And a few more surprises up our sleeves… (We have to keep some of the mystery alive, right?)
